Impact of COVID-19 epidemic in prevalence of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Objectives: To find out the impact of COVID-19 epidemic in prevalence obsessive-compulsive disorder and differences sociodemographic factors. Study Design: Descriptive study. Setting: Department Psychiatry Behavioral Sciences, Nishtar Hospital Multan. Period: January to March 2022. Material & Methods: The sample consisted 50 OCD patients (Male=34, Females=16). Convenient sampling method was used approach participants. Yale Brown Obsessive Compulsive scale along with Sociodemographic variables. Results were analyzed by using SPSS-21. Results: Findings study showed that Obsession ideas contamination compulsion related cleaning washing rituals more prevalent during Epidemic. It also explored there significant increase Incidence after epidemic. Male population affected Epidemic as compared females. Residents urban areas vulnerable for developing OCD. incidents higher young especially students. Conclusion: is concluded increased due Furthermore, it further observed certain obsessions (obsession contamination) specific compulsions (cleaning washing) significantly than other types
